USBC Certified Youth Scholarship Tournament
Rule Changes/Clarifications 2020 - 2021
Average Divisions – There will be SIX average divisions --- 99 & under, 100-125, 126-150, 151 – 175, 176-194. Elite division for bowlers with 195 and higher averages. To determine the division in which youth will compete at the state finals, bowlers will use the HIGHER of (1) their 2020-21 bowling season’s highest verifiable league average as of March 6, 2021, minimum of 12 games, (2) their 2019-20 bowling season’s highest verifiable average of 12 or more games or (3) their Sport Condition/Challenge league average if the USBC conversion chart results in an average higher than the bowler’s regular league average(s). At the Association Finals, bowlers will use their highest end of 2020-2021 season average, minimum of 12 games OR (1), (2), or (3) above, whichever is higher. You must record all leagues and centers you compete in and use the highest average.
The number of bowlers advancing from each of the state finals to the QubicaAMF Finals will be approximately the number shown in the following chart depending on the number of entries in each of the state finals.
Approximately 32 scholarships will be awarded in the state finals based on the number of entries at each of the state finals. The exact number of additional scholarships will be posted before competition begins in the first of the three state finals. These scholarship winners will NOT advance to the association finals.

In-center Qualifying – The top three (3) bowlers each week from each league (pins over average series) will qualify for their respective state finals in all average categories except the ELITE (195 and higher) division. Youths in the ELITE division may enter the state finals directly by paying their $20.00 entry fee and submitted a completed entry form. At the state and Association finals, the determining factor will be pins over for series in all but the ELITE division where total pins (scratch) will be used for placement and advancement.

Only youth bowlers who did not earn a spot in their respective state finals are eligible to participate in this rolloff. Advancement ratio will be one for every four entries. NOTE --Centers not qualifying bowlers weekly may NOT run an end-of-season sweeper.
